Peterborough’s first monthly poetry slam will be happening Thursday November the 8th at The Spill Coffee Bar at 414 George st. N. from 7 to 9 pm.
The slam competition is open to the first eight poets who sign up at the beginning of the night and arrives with two poems to perform. Two rounds of one poem per poet will be scored by random judges from the audience.
The friendly competition will be followed by a poetry open mic that will blend into the regularly scheduled open stage at The Spill.
Writers of all sorts from seasoned slammers to first-time readers are welcome, as well as curious and supportive spectators.
Hosting the evening will be Peterborough’s own Ziy.
ROUND-1 is a free event, open to all ages, licensed, barrier-free and queer-positive.
